The Paris Dress By Designer Stitch Patterns

Just in time for all the party celebrations, say hello to the fabulous new Paris Dress from Designer Stitch Patterns!

Paris is made for woven fabrics, and I whipped mine up in a dreamy flocked polycotton and a silky satin. I couldn’t choose a favourite length, so… I made both! One at 60 cm and one at 75 cm because why not?

And the best part? You can add a matching self-fabric belt and the cutest little shoulder-tie accents.
I’m officially party-ready in my brand-new Paris dresses, and I’m obsessed!

The Willowstorm Coat by Ashley Riley

I can finally say it… she’s finished! And I am over the moon with how she turned out. This coat has been a real labor of love, and seeing her fully lined and ready to wear feels like such an achievement.

Named The Willowstorm Coat, because it feels luxurious, moody, and dramatic, just like deep purple wool blend fabric I used to create it.

I drafted this coat using the bodice block I created back in college, so every part of it is truly made to measure. Working without a pattern or instructions definitely added a bit of spice to the process, but taking my time, testing different construction methods, and trusting my instincts really paid off.

This beauty includes two feature, one I’ve never tackled before, storm flaps and I've improved my welt pocket making.

Both pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I absolutely loved the challenge. There were a few moments of unpicking (as always!), but once the pieces started coming together, everything clicked. The welt pockets especially were a proud-dance-around-the-sewing-room moment!

Sewing a coat has always felt like one of those “one day…” projects, and now that I’ve made one from scratch, I can’t wait to make more. There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching a flat piece of fabric transform into a structured, wearable garment, especially one that feels this special.

If you’re thinking about making your own coat, I say go for it. Take your time, trust your skills, and don’t be afraid to try new techniques. The feeling when you slip on a handmade coat for the first time? Absolutely unbeatable.

The Rylie Shirt By Designer Stitch Patterns

As autumn is here I made the perfect shirt it's called Rylie from Designer Stitch patterns. I used this beautiful viscose from ABC Fabric which worked so well for the Rylie. There are many options to this pattern from a drawstring front, to no drawstring and different sleeve options. I made the front drawstring with the standard placket cuff. I love that it has lots of features, the side splits with the drawstring front is my fav.

The Mirabel Side Pleat Knit Top

I'm so excited to share my latest make, the new Mirabel side pleated knit top from Sinclair Patterns. This design is as clever as it is beautiful!

The Mirabel comes as a top or a dress, with your choice of sleeveless, short, 3/4, or long sleeves, making it a truly year-round pattern. The star of the show is the gorgeous mirrored pleating at the waist, topped with a soft, draped faux waistband. It adds such amazing movement and detail.

I sewed up the short-sleeved top version in this beautiful Marble print ITY from ABC Fabric. It sewed up like a dream, and the drape is just perfect for showcasing those elegant pleats.

The Anais Dress by Designer Stitch Patterns

I’ve just finished sewing up the brand-new Anais pattern from Designer Stitch, for my version, I went with the two-piece option, a flared skirt paired with a matching peplum-style top with elbow-length sleeves. I love that I can wear them together for a co-ordinated look, or style them separately with other pieces in my wardrobe. Versatility is always a win in my book!

I chose a Red/Black Spot Cotton Jersey from ABC Fabric, which I thought was the perfect match for this pattern. The fabric is soft, comfy, and has just the right amount of stretch to make this outfit as practical as it is stylish. Plus, those spots are just too cute to resist!

If you’re planning to make the Anais yourself, my biggest tip is to make a toile first. It really helps if you need to make adjustments before cutting into your main fabric. And don’t skip the measurement instructions, they’re there for a reason, and they made a big difference to my final fit.

Because I’m on the shorter side, I did a couple of tweaks to get the fit just right. These small changes made the proportions much better for my height:
  • Shortened the bodice by ½ inch
  • Took 2 inches off the shortest skirt length
I haven’t worn my Anais out just yet, but I’ve got a lunch planned for next week (🍷😉) and this is definitely going to be my outfit of choice. I’m already predicting a few compliments when I step out in it! This pattern has so many options, and I’m already planning my next version – this time a dress. I think it’ll be perfect for autumn layered with tights and boots.
