The Anais Dress by Designer Stitch Patterns

I’ve just finished sewing up the brand-new Anais pattern from Designer Stitch, for my version, I went with the two-piece option, a flared skirt paired with a matching peplum-style top with elbow-length sleeves. I love that I can wear them together for a co-ordinated look, or style them separately with other pieces in my wardrobe. Versatility is always a win in my book!

I chose a Red/Black Spot Cotton Jersey from ABC Fabric, which I thought was the perfect match for this pattern. The fabric is soft, comfy, and has just the right amount of stretch to make this outfit as practical as it is stylish. Plus, those spots are just too cute to resist!

If you’re planning to make the Anais yourself, my biggest tip is to make a toile first. It really helps if you need to make adjustments before cutting into your main fabric. And don’t skip the measurement instructions, they’re there for a reason, and they made a big difference to my final fit.

Because I’m on the shorter side, I did a couple of tweaks to get the fit just right. These small changes made the proportions much better for my height:
  • Shortened the bodice by ½ inch
  • Took 2 inches off the shortest skirt length
I haven’t worn my Anais out just yet, but I’ve got a lunch planned for next week (🍷😉) and this is definitely going to be my outfit of choice. I’m already predicting a few compliments when I step out in it! This pattern has so many options, and I’m already planning my next version – this time a dress. I think it’ll be perfect for autumn layered with tights and boots.

The Lakeisha Cottage Crop Top, Peplum, Dress Pattern from Ellie and Mac

It's here the beautiful Lakeisha Cottage Crop top, peplum and dress from Ellie and Mac.
It has loads of options from different lengths, to different sleeves. I love this pattern so much I had to make a few, I used this lovely Leopard Jersey Lycra from ABC Fabric from my dress which I used the gathered skirt and ruffle with bishop sleeves and the peplum with short sleeves. I also had to make the cute crop in this cool Pebble Jaccard knit. What style would you make first?

The Wrenley Pattern from Made for Mermaids

I love a pattern that comes with lot's of options and Wrenley Pattern is one of them. This is a new release from Made for mermaids. Wrenley is a knit pattern that has the options from crop, peplum, mini, dress, midi, maxi and romper style, oh that is a lot and I'm not finished. Thick straps that you can add ruffles too, a lovely square neck line, full back or tie up back, shelf bra, lining, think that's it!

I made the crop-length romper with ruffle straps in the light denim jersey and mixed the medium colour denim in pockets and ruffles.

You know me I can't just make one, I also made the top in this beautiful rib knit from KPF Sewing Chat, another great summer pattern.
