I made the shortest length with elbow sleeves using this beautiful turquoise viscose blend fabric from ABC Fabric, which has the perfect drape for this pattern. Pompon Waistcoat Set by Maison Fauve

 

I’ve finished my first waistcoat and I’m over the moon with how it turned out! I used the free Pompon waistcoat pattern from Maison Fauve. I left off the front pockets this time but might try them on my next one. To create a cute little set, I paired my waistcoat with a pair of Padget pleated shorts from Petite Stitchery, I did add some cuffs to the bottom of the shorts for a turned up look. Although the shorts are designed for knit fabrics, they work well with woven fabrics too, thanks to the elastic back. I used a bright tropical satin for the lining of my waistcoat and khaki suiting for the main fabric, all from ABC Fabric. I’m in love with how the set looks!

The Blair Knot Dress by Deffrenne

Introducing the Blair Knot Dress by Isabelle Deffrenne, a new independent sewing pattern and fashion designer based in Germany. As soon as I saw the Blair dress, I fell in love with it and had to test it out! I made a version in a new Bordeaux bengaline from ABC Fabric which has a great structure and two-way stretch. I really like the elasticated back-waistband and cute gathered shoulder detail. Mostly I love the front tie-knot, which can be adjusted to your modesty requirements. Of course I had to take some height off being so short and I'm very happy with the finished dress!
